Under coach Mikel Arteta, the Egyptian star is not actually seen as a key factor.

Arteta praises Elneny

Entering the winter transfer window with a series of rumors, Arsenal did not welcome any new recruits in the last transfer window. However, in the opposite direction, coach Mikel Arteta decided to bid farewell to a series of players in the first team.

Not only loan contracts, Arteta is also ready to get rid of many stars in the form of free transfers, such as Calum Chambers or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. However, there is also one star who is not allowed to leave, even though his contract with the Gunners is due to expire at the end of the season.

7 players who could leave Arsenal in January - Football

 Elneny cannot leave Arsenal yet.

Such is the case with Mohamed Elneny, who has been underutilized this season with just seven Premier League appearances (1 start). However, BBC quoted sources from The Sun as saying, Arsenal still flatly rejected the offers that Newcastle United, Leeds and Watford sent to this midfielder in the winter transfer window.

In fact, Arteta has a reason to keep Elneny, because he was unable to carry out his plan to upgrade the midfield in the last market. Moreover, given that Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are quite susceptible to injury, Elneny would be a quality backup. However, it is almost certain that the Gunners will lose the Egyptian midfielder at the end of the season without earning a dime.
