Erling Haaland said Borrusia Dortmund wants the striker to quickly decide on his future, although the contract between the two sides is still valid.

“For the past six months, I have not said anything to show respect to Dortmund. But now the club is starting to pressure me to make a decision about my future. However, what I want to do now is the club.” This is just playing football,” Haaland shared after Dortmund’s 5-1 victory over Freiburg at dawn on January 15 (Hanoi time).

“I just want to play. This is what I do best. I don’t want anything to distract me. Dortmund wants me to make decisions but this is not the right time. We are in a difficult period with many matches,” added the Norwegian star.

The contract between Haaland and Dortmund will end in June 2024. After June 30, Haaland’s €75 million release clause with Dortmund will be activated.

This is what makes the Norwegian striker a sought-after item in the summer transfer window. Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola did not miss this opportunity to bid on Haaland. Salaries and tips are considered the biggest obstacle for clubs wanting to have Haaland.

Raiola demanded a salary of up to 50 million euros per season for Haaland and 20 million euros in bribes for himself.

Haaland has maintained impressive form since moving to Dortmund in early 2020. After 77 matches, he has scored 78 goals and caused many difficulties for defenders in Germany.

In the Bundesliga season 2021/22, Haaland scored 15 goals and 6 assists to help Dortmund rank 2nd in the rankings. In the confrontation with Freiburg, the 21-year-old striker also shone with a brace.
