Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus all have one thing in common after losing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Man Utd – 2008

After the defeat to Barca in the 2008/09 Champions League final, Ronaldo left Man Utd to go to Real. Farewell to Ronaldo, the Red Devils lost their strength.

Ronaldo’s departure opened the door for Wayne Rooney, who then took over as a centre-forward and he scored 34 career goals in the 2009/10 season. Even so, Ferguson’s side only have one League Cup to show for their efforts as they are one point behind Chelsea in the table.

Losing Ronaldo, Man Utd struggled to find a replacement.

The Old Trafford side have yet to reach the heights they had in the Ronaldo era despite two more League titles and reaching another Champions League final in 2011.

Real Madrid – 2018

Having just completed an unprecedented hat-trick in the Champions League, Ronaldo decided to try something new. He left, which seemed to help Gareth Bale shine, but everything did not happen.

Los Blancos have played relatively erratically over the past time, gone through many coaches and often failed in the Champions League. In all these seasons, Real has never reached the final, let alone won the Champions League.

Real played unstable after parting with Ronaldo in the summer of 2018.

This season, Real have a chance to win La Liga, but they have not found the same strength as when they owned Ronaldo. That’s why Perez is trying to recruit Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to add strength to the squad.

Juventus – 2021

European football journalist Jonathan Wilson described Ronaldo’s move to Juventus as “one of the worst transfers in football history” . Despite his scoring record in Italy, the Portuguese’s move to Serie A seems to get even worse with each passing day.

Ronaldo returned to Man Utd in the summer of 2021 but when he lost the 37-year-old striker, Juventus was no longer himself. They are unlikely to win the Scudetto and have just been knocked out of the Champions League by Villarreal.

Juventus is worse than it was when Ronaldo was in the squad.

At the moment, the Bianconeri are in the process of rebuilding the squad when Paulo Dybala will leave. Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa are two important factors for Old Lady’s return plan.
