Kelleher played brilliantly in the Carabao Cup Final.

But he still has to suffer behind goalkeeper Alisson at Anfield and that is sure to attract the interest of a number of other clubs this summer. But coach Jurgen Klopp confirmed, Liverpool will not sell Kelleher in the near future.

“For young goalkeepers, that (desire to play) is natural for growth, and Caoimh has developed here extremely well,” the German strategist shared.

“There’s absolutely no intention of selling him or anything like borrowing him. Nothing.”

“We need a strong number two goalkeeper. Win a title, will that help [keep him]? You’ll have to ask Caoimh that.”

Kelleher recently signed a new contract with the club until 2026 and is satisfied with his role as No.

Klopp added: He has a long-term contract here and we have long-term plans with him , but of course we want to help him become the best version of himself. That’s what he is. we’ve done so far and that’s what we’ll continue to do.”

“Maybe one year, he’ll be on loan, I’m not sure next year or maybe next year. It depends a bit on Marcelo (Pitaluga), he’s on a good path.”

“We have to assess that situation. Adrian is still here and doing an incredible job. We’ll see,” Klopp concluded.
