RENO, Nev. – Nevada opened its season-long, eight-match home stand in victorious fashion Thursday, rolling to a 6-1 victory over Idaho.

The win evened the Pack’s season record at 4-4, and was its third in the last four duals.

Isaac Nortey, Matheo Coupu, and Delmas N’Tcha reeled off quick singles victories at the Nos. 2, 6, and 1 positions, respectively, to clinch the match for Nevada. With the doubles point in hand, Nevada doubled its lead to 2-0 as Nortey claimed a win after his opponent, Idaho’s Althaf Dhaifullah, retired one game into the second set with Nortey up 6-4, 1-0.

Coupu and N’Tcha each dispatched their opponent in straight sets, with Coupu beating Vivek Ramesh, 6-1, 6-2, and N’Tcha posting a 6-2, 6-1 win over Francisco Bascon.

Ambroise Marchand (6-2, 6-3 over Alejandro Salvadror Civera) and Juan Batalla (6-1, 7-6 over Matteo Masala) grabbed the other singles wins for the Pack.

Nevada took the doubles point thanks to Nortey and Batalla’s 6-4 victory at No. 1 over Bascon and Masala, after the teams had split the Nos. 2 and 3 matches.
