Three years ago, the Red Devils confirmed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their official coach. But when Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham in November 2019, months after Solskjaer signed a three-year contract, there was a lot of speculation.

At the time, Solskjaer issued a message of sympathy to Pochettino, despite knowing full well that leaving the Argentinian manager free would jeopardize his job: “For Mauricio, it is sad that one of his colleagues , a good man, lost his job, especially before Christmas, so I wish him all the best.”
