RENO, Nev. – Nevada men’s golf coach Jacob Wilner has announced the Wolf Pack’s 2021-22 schedule, which includes 11 events between the fall and spring semesters.

The Wolf Pack will break up its 11 events between five events in the fall and six, including the 2022 Mountain West Championship, in the spring. Nevada will tee off in its first event of the new season on Sept. 10-12 at Air Force’s event, the Gene Miranda Invite. The tournament will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo. at the Eisenhower Course on the campus of the Air Force Academy. The Pack has competed in this event four times in its history, but this will be the first time since 2015.

The Pack’s other event in the month of September will be the Husky Invitational, held at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash. on Sept. 20-21. This tournament will serve as a chance for Nevada to preview the future site of the Mountain West Championship, which will also be held at Gold Mountain Golf Club the following April. Nevada has had success at this event in the past, with a second place finish in 2019 and a third place showing in 2020.

One of the highlights on this year’s schedule will be the return of the Wolf Pack Classic, held Oct. 11-12 at Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno. The Wolf Pack Classic had previously been an annual event hosted by Nevada year after year, but this will mark the first Wolf Pack Classic since the 2011-12 season. Nevada did host Oregon State for a duel match in 2019, but this will be the program’s first multi-team event in a decade. The field will feature 14 teams and will offer the individual winner an exemption into the 2022 Barracuda Championship.

After the Pack’s lone home event, the team will wrap up the fall season with a trip to Hawaii Oct. 25-27 to compete in the Hoakalei Collegiate Invitational, followed by the Saint Mary’s Invitational Nov. 8-10 at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, Calif. After a short break in the action Nevada will return to the golf course to begin its spring season March 2-4 at the Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif.

From there the Wolf Pack will participate in a couple of events it is more than familiar with, starting with the Lamkin San Diego Classic on March 7-8 at San Diego Country Club. Nevada earned a runner-up team finish at this event earlier this year in March. Next up the Pack will compete in Stanford’s event, The Goodwin, an event Nevada has participated in five out of the last six years. The team posted its best finish at this tournament this most recent season when it placed sixth in the 28-team field and saw former Wolf Pack golfer Sam Harned take home co-medalist honors.

A fairly new event awaits the Wolf Pack April 4-5 as it will compete in the Cowboy Classic for the first time since 2013. The tournament will be held at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz. Nevada will conclude the 2021-22 regular season at the BYU Cougar Classic on April 22-23 at Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah. The Mountain West Championship will take place April 29 – May 1 at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash.

At the conclusion of these 11 events, the Wolf Pack will see if it can qualify for NCAA Regionals for a fourth straight time. NCAA Regionals will be held May 16-18.
